On Thursday, bandits abducted 23 residents from Kawu community in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

Abdulmumini Zakari, the area’s councilor, confirmed the incident, stating that the gunmen came from Kuyeri Forest in Kaduna State and targeted various locations, including the district head’s palace.

They kidnapped the son of Alhaji Abdurrahman Danjuma Ali and his newlywed wife.

The former PDP Chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Sidi Kawu, and Sarkin Pawan Kawu, Gambo Pawa, along with their families were also abducted.

The FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident. Recently, there has been a surge in bandit abductions in satellite towns around the FCT.
