  • Supervise biological technologists, technicians, and other scientists
  • Conduct clinical and laboratory studies to evaluate drugs and biomedical products
  • Conduct molecular and biochemical studies in genetic expression and manipulation
  • Conduct research in biotechnology to develop new products
  • Study microorganisms’ structure, function, ecology, genetics, and biotechnology
  • Supervise laboratory personnel, graduate students, and research scientists
  • Produce reports, perform administrative tasks, and maintain health databases


  • Education: Earned doctorate degree
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
